New plans to double the size of a proposed skyscraper development on the Isle of Dogs’ Westferry Printworks site have now been submitted to tower Hamlet’s Council.

The 15-acre waterfront scheme reaching up to 46 stories has plans to double housing scheme from 700 to 1,500 apartments as well as shops, restaurant, bars, work spaces, a secondary school for 1,200 pupils and a healthcare centre.

With 75% of the site designed to feature beautifully landscaped outside space, the community will be able to enjoy the luxury of two new parks and neatly created walkways on the attractive dockside, just minutes from Canary Wharf.

The new plans submitted doubles the size of the scheme from the original in 2016 which had planning consent. The increase responds to the London Plan which identifies the Isle of Dogs for new homes. The Mayor of London has called for 66,000 every year, with Tower Hamlets having an annual target of 3,500.
